I’m John Kerrison, the producer and presenter of Out in Sydney.
For a decade I was a broadcast journalist and news anchor. I reported on Australian Federal politics and courts for a major news network in Sydney. From 2001 until 2005, I presented regional news in NSW.
Out in Sydney is a passion project dedicated to LGBTI+ radio. The project was approved by my current employer.
I’m a proud gay man. I don’t presume to represent the Queer spectrum and will instead use the show to try to include, hear and learn from as many voices as possible.
Politics is unavoidable when, for many people, being LGBTI+ is layered with experiences of discrimination and disadvantage. That said, Out in Sydney will reflect on how life can be big and bold and safe and fun.
I’m a local in the Inner West of Sydney who loves my cappuccino extra hot, queer books, Fujifilm cameras and my beloved Sydney Frontrunners club.
The Out in Sydney podcast now live on iTunes is not for profit.
A Summer season to run to March 2022 is in development.
